Overcrowding and queues top list of holiday frustrations
29/09/2009
Overcrowded public transport and airport queues are the most frustrating things holidaymakers can encounter on their travels, according to a new survey.
Consumer group Which? found that journeying to and from a destination was the part of a holiday Brits enjoyed the least, with uncomfortable airline seats and delayed flights adding to their frustrations, reports TravelMole.
Another common complaint was that visitor attractions were overcrowded, badly managed or had long queues.
Which? said that frustrations mentioned by two-thirds of the 5,000 people surveyed involved booking their trip online.
"The most common web-related grievance was the issue of hidden costs or surcharges not shown in the original price, followed by the fact that booking online took too long," it explained.
Despite these grumbles, more than half (53 per cent) of those questioned said they had no frustrations with any aspect of their holiday experience.
A recent survey from Post Office Travel Services also revealed that Brits are increasingly turning to package holidays for the best deals.
